Aboard the Northwind, you’ll discover a framed original prescription once written for Winston Churchill, famously calling for gin as part of his “treatment,” a fascinating glimpse into a time when spirits were considered just as medicinal as they were indulgent, and a perfectly fitting detail for a vessel where history and cocktails intertwine.
Poker Room

The poker room is a subtle nod to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’s father, John Vernou Bouvier III, who was nicknamed “Black Jack” for many reasons, among them his well-known love for gambling and card games. Throughout the Northwind, you’ll notice subtle nods to the bulldog woven into the décor, a tribute to Winston Churchill, whose steadfast leadership and tenacious spirit earned him the enduring nickname, bringing a sense of character and quiet symbolism to every corner of the ship.

The wallpaper in Winston’s Bar is adorned with books, reflecting Winston Churchill’s deep love of reading, especially in this very room where he often sought inspiration.
Real Vintage Alcohol Advertisements

In the Winston’s bar, you’ll also find a photograph of Queen Elizabeth II from her visit aboard while she was still Princess Elizabeth. Surrounding it are authentic, framed vintage alcohol advertisements from the 1940s and 1950s, adding to the ship’s timeless character.
